OUR PROCESS

Our clients usually have a predefined business case or project requirement. They require assistance with placing the right device, in the right hands, and delivering it on time, and within budget.  At BioRugged, our main focus is to meet the customer's end goal which is essential in understanding how we assist them in achieving their targets. Hence, the BioRugged revolutionary life-cycle tool using the 4 W's: Why, Who, What, and Where.

This tool ensures we ask the rights questions to develop each client’s unique request and encapsulate the entire project life-cycle, from the primary need to final implementation.

Why?

Is the hardware required?

We ascertain the application of the device and its fundamental requirements. Key considerations include: Biometrics, barcode scanning, card reading, RFID, and NFC. We therefore start by fully specifying the device and identifying the key features it needs to have.

Who?

Will use the device?

We complete a comprehensive assessment of the type of interface required for each feature of the solution. Our key questions include: Will the device be used in offices, rural, or special working environments? Are vehicle mounting brackets with special audio equipment needed for use in trucks or tanks?

What?

Will the device be used for?

We define the application for the device, identify the intended use of a product, and the software that is required. This is integral in comprehending the requirements and particular specifications of solutions. For example a PSAM slot with a CPU-based fingerprint reader, inside a 10inch, dual boot, rugged tablet, with 1/2D barcode.

Where?

Will the device be used?

In terms of environment, and especially in issues related to the application, the “where” part of this process is crucial in defining the specifications. These will speak to the degree of ruggedness, protection against water and dust, fall height, operating temperature, dimensions, and weight.
